David Macdonald B.A., F.C.A.
The founder of The Martlet Partnership, David Macdonald qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1986. In 1994 David set about building his own firm, after rapid growth the business was incorporated forming D Macdonald & Company Limited in 2000.
Fluent in French, Spanish, Italian and Catalan; David has delivered seminars abroad and as a result has had a huge interest from clients on the continent who have come to England to set up business and prosper. He has particular experience in practice whose clients include small and start-up businesses through to international corporate groups advising on all aspects of business, accounting and taxation.
Matt Pedder B.A., F.C.A.
Matt qualified as a chartered accountant in 2001 with a local four partner practice, he then moved to a top 20 accountancy practice to further enhance his corporate business advisory experience. Matt joined David in 2003 and became a partner in the newly formed entity The Martlet Partnership LLP in 2007.
Matt has a diverse portfolio of clients. His main area of focus is in providing business support and tax advice to owner-managed businesses. He splits his time between supporting start-up businesses and carrying out tax planning and a business support role for large owner-managed companies. His client base includes manufacturing, digital media, property development, retail, and other professional service based companies.
Matt lives in Worthing with his wife and young family, outside of accountancy Matt enjoys spending quality time with the family, keeping fit and following his boyhood football team Luton Town!
John Pudduck F.C.C.A.
John qualified as a Certified Accountant in 1999 having already gained a wealth of experience in local accountancy practices. In the same year he joined Wolstenholme McIlwee in Worthing and managed that practice until it was acquired by The Martlet Partnership in 2007.
His specialist areas are trusts and estates, auditing and tax advice for corporate clients. In particular he advises company owners how to extract their profits in the most tax-efficient manner. His client portfolio includes sole traders, partnerships and limited companies.
Matt Hibbert A.C.C.A., C.T.A.
Matt Hibbert is the Martlet Partnership’s newest partner. Having joined The Martlet Partnership in 2008, Matt completed his ACCA qualification in 2014. During this period Matt managed the accounts and audits of clients in a variety of sectors. He then went on to complete his taxation exams to become a Chartered Tax Adviser and member of the Chartered Institute of Taxation in November 2015.
Matt’s experience and qualifications give him a great breadth of knowledge, making him well placed to advise clients on all aspects of their business affairs. He has a strong background assisting SME and OMB clients with their business strategy and tax planning, as well as personal tax and family tax planning issues.
Matt takes pride in delivering results and solving tax problems for clients.
Outside of work, when life with a young family allows, Matt is an avid boxing fan and fitness fanatic.
